Bring us your film
NAMI exists because African work needed a shelf. If you made something and it is finished, we want to see it.
What we license
Feature films
Fiction and documentary, any length over roughly forty minutes, finished and colour-graded.
Series
Returning or limited, delivered by season. We take unfinished seasons where the delivery schedule is firm.
Short films
Programmed into curated collections rather than dropped in alone, because a short needs company to find an audience.
Stand-up, music and live
Recorded performance, concert film and comedy specials, where the music rights are cleared for streaming.
How it works
- 1
Submit
Send us the title, a synopsis, a screener link and the rights you hold. The submission page lists exactly what to include so nothing goes back and forth.
- 2
Watch
Somebody on the content team watches it. We aim to come back within three weeks, and we tell you either way — a no with a reason is worth more than silence.
- 3
Terms
If we want it, we agree a territory, a licence window and a fee structure in writing. Nothing is exclusive unless we have specifically paid for exclusivity.
- 4
Deliver
You send the master and the assets. We transcode, package and do our own quality check before anything goes live.
- 5
Publish and report
The title goes into the catalogue and gets real merchandising. You get viewership figures for it — completed views, average watch time and where the audience was.
Delivery requirements
Do not send these with your first submission — a screener link is enough to start. This is what we will need once a licence is agreed, and knowing it early saves weeks.
- A master in ProRes 422 HQ, DNxHR HQ or a high-bitrate H.264/H.265 file — 1920×1080 or better, progressive, at the film's native frame rate.
- Audio as stereo at minimum, 5.1 where you have it, mixed to a consistent loudness and free of clipping.
- Subtitle files as SRT or WebVTT for every language you can supply, including the original where the dialogue is not in English.
- Key art: a portrait poster and a landscape backdrop, both without burned-in text where possible, so our artwork can be localised.
- A title logo on transparency if one exists — it is what the player uses over the hero.
- The chain of title, the music cue sheet, and written confirmation of the streaming rights you are granting and for which territories.
How the money works
Licence fee
A fixed fee for a fixed window and territory, paid on delivery and acceptance. This is what most of our agreements look like, because a film-maker should not have to wait on our subscriber growth to get paid.
Revenue share
An alternative where a share of subscription revenue is allocated against watch time on your title. Reported quarterly with the underlying figures, not just a total.
Originals
Work NAMI commissions or co-finances, where we are involved from development. These are negotiated individually and we are open about what we can fund.
What we will not do
We do not ask film-makers to pay to be carried, we do not take rights we are not paying for, and we do not sign perpetual assignments. If a term in a draft looks unusual to you, say so — it is probably an error.
Ready when you are
The submission form takes about five minutes and tells you exactly what we need. If you are not sure whether your work fits, send it anyway — deciding that is our job, not yours.
Journalists want the Press page. People looking for a job want Careers.
